Over the past year, I've noticed something interesting during client meetings. More and more people are arriving with financial plans, investment ideas, and retirement strategies they've generated using ChatGPT or other AI tools.
Honestly, I think that's a good thing.
AI can be incredibly useful for learning about financial concepts, understanding technical terms, and getting quick answers to questions. I use technology in my own practice every day to help analyze information and identify planning opportunities more efficiently.
But there's an important distinction worth remembering: Having access to information is not the same thing as having advice.
Research from Morningstar's Mind the Gap study found that investors often earn lower returns than the investments they own because of the timing of purchases and sales.[1]
Vanguard's Advisor's Alpha research highlights behavioral coaching and helping investors stay committed to a long-term plan as significant sources of advisor value.[2]
At Premier Wealth Advisors, we embrace technology, but our role is to help you make informed decisions, keep perspective during uncertain times, and build a strategy that fits the life you're trying to create.
As always, we're here to help.
